3 Imox (23rd February 2024)

3 ImoxToday is a day to celebrate your individuality. It is a day to look inside yourself and identify your dreams by detaching from society’s images.

The fertile nature of the energy of the nawal Imox gives rise to creation if it can separate from the inspirational dreams. Today the energy of the number 3 may assist with that separation, creating an internal focus.

Nawal Imox represents the visionary world and without it, there would be no creation. However, it also has some very challenging aspects. Sometimes we connect too strongly with the collective consciousness, bringing out the herd mentality. Today the introverted energy of the number 3 may dampen the connection to the collective consciousness. This in turn helps the visionary energy of Imox to become more focused than usual.

We like to be a part of a tribe, we like to belong. We understand the “rules” of what we grew up with. Whilst we might rebel against these norms, there is sometimes a nostalgia around them for us. They fed us as a child and then we moved away from them. Sometimes we yearn for that nurture again. The energy today may highlight your separation from birth culture. In our birth process, as we progress through the trecena of Kawok, we can see this as separation from the collective consciousness, or separation from our mother culture. It allows our individuality to emerge.

The energy of the day 3 Imox has the potential to allow us to become independent. It allows us to dream for ourselves, our own thoughts rather than cultural biases guiding us.

The Nawal Imox

Nawal Imox represents the collective consciousness, the great ocean. It is the moment before the “big bang”, when all that existed was the dream of the creator. It is everything and nothing in one place, the ovum from which reality was conceived. Imox is still very much in the other world, requiring another component to physically manifest the dream into reality.

Imox is considered to be a feminine nawal. Sometimes called water lily, sometimes crocodile, it is an embodiment of the primordial. It was from the great ocean that the four first men raised sky to create the world which we inhabit. Imox can also be seen as the Darwinian swamp from which all life emerged. It is fertile and creative, the mother that gave birth to our entire reality.

Imox is our common origin, and as such links us all together. It is the place of dreams, the collective conscious we delve into on our nightly voyages. It may also relate to the place that certain plant medicines take us to in order to bring us wisdom. However, as the font of all of creation, Imox harbours the dark as well as the light.

Imox is a day to celebrate the spirit of the times, to understand the collective mind. It is a day to dream your creations, your art, your music. Imox helps us all feel connected, when the psychic field between us may be particularly strong. Discernment may be called for, to understand when to dissociate from the collective. It is important to remember your individuality.

The Number Three

There are various myths about the creation which link with the number 3. One is that at the time of creation, three stones jumped out of the fireplace and formed the new world. These three stones are called the hearthstones and are still seen in many Maya homes today, on the fire supporting the tortilla griddle. From an astronomical point of view, the stones are the stars Alnitak, Saiph and Rigel in the constellation we call Orion, and the Smoky Fireplace is the Great Orion Nebula (M42)

The number 3 is still in the low end of the range of numbers. It does not have much energy yet, and it is also an odd number. It can represent the home, relating to the three hearthstones laid by the creators, and this is probably a good focus for a 3 day. However, it lacks stability and can represent challenges and obstructions. The number three brings up internal/external dilemmas. The lack of stability in the physical, external world that it brings suggests that the more appropriate action is to look to the internal world, both of the home and yourself.

9 Imox (3rd February 2024)

We can see this as a day to breathe life into our dreams, although this is rather an understatement.  It is the creation and nurturing of life itself, brought through from the other world.

Whilst Imox has its reputation for getting lost in the dream world. It also represents the place from where all things come. When this is combined with the number of life and the divine feminine, we can expect great things.

In some ways, there can be no purer expression of feminine potential than the day 9 Imox. Imox is the font of life, possibly the egg, possibly the womb, depending on how you look at it. It is the creative potential waiting to be brought from the collective consciousness into the physical world. The 9 represents both the feminine and is seen as the number of life itself.

It is a day to look to the women around us to help us all to navigate the collective consciousness without being pulled into its dreamy depths. If you have a life dream and you are wondering how to bring it into reality, today you might ask the advice of the women in your life how best to nurture it.

The Number Nine

The number nine is the number of lunations in the human gestation period and in the sacred calendar. The sacred calendar is known as a calendar of life, and it is women that give life. As such the number nine is seen as the number of life and the number of the divine feminine. It gives all that it is attached to a strong feminine presence. It is a day on which women may wish to give thanks for their gifts.

2 Imox (14th January 2024)

2 ImoxThe duality of the dream and reality is apparent today.

One of the hazards of Imox days is the possibility of sinking into the dreamlike depths of the collective consciousness.  Imox is a fertile place to allow our minds to wander. However, it is easy to get stuck in this swamp of creation. What you can bring out of these depths can be something truly in harmony with the spirit of the times. That’s if you manage to extract yourself from the dream. Imox can be seen as infinite possibilities. Thus, it can also be like staring into the abyss. It can inspire or terrify. The energy of Imox is not always the easiest to work with.

Today, the energy of the number 2 is coupled with Imox. This can be seen as being able to understand the duality. The energy of the number two helps us to discern between the dream world and reality. It is, perhaps, rather a useful combination, one which may help bring out the best in the “crazy” day.

We could also see the number 2 as representing self-sacrifice. Today there is a possibility that you might need to make a sacrifice of your energy to bring your dreams closer to the surface. Perhaps the most charming interpretation would be when we see the number 2 as the number of lovers, suggesting that today you are particularly able to form a collective consciousness with your partner. Today is a day of dreaming together.

Imox helps us all feel connected, when the psychic field between us may be particularly strong. Discernment may be called for, to understand when to dissociate from the collective. It is important to remember your individuality.

The Number Two

The number 2 is representative of duality, of polarity. Although a low number, it has surprising strength. It is said to be able to call upon both aspects or polarities of what it is attached to. It is said to be the number of lovers, it signifies relationships and self-sacrifice. Whilst it can lend itself to mediation, seeing both sides of the story, it also can be indecisive.

8 Imox (25th December 2023)

Today is a good day to make ceremonies for the oceans, the lakes, and large bodies of water. We give thanks for the sustenance we receive from the water, and to ask for pardon for the pollution we allow to happen. It is a day to recognise the essence of life, and celebrate our connection to water.

8 Imox brings a recognition of the spirit of the times, both the things we embrace and the things we push away. They all come from the same source. It is a celebration of the dream world, the limitless potential from which we draw our creativity. It is a day on which we give thanks for the dreams that we are able to manifest into the physical world. We also ask for guidance from the dream world for further inspiration. It is a day when we ask for safety on our nightly journeys into the abyss, so that we can find our way back to reality again.

The energy of 8 Imox brings a day to bring wholeness to your creations or dreams. It is the day to put the final parts into the project, or to tap into collective for guidance on how to complete your project. It is time to connect with the part of the collective consciousness with which you resonate strongest to bring wholeness to your dream. However, it is important to remember your wholeness as an individual outside of the collective. Discernment may be called for. One must understand when to dissociate from the collective, remember our individuality, and to pull oneself out of an unhealthy group consciousness.

The Nawal Imox

Nawal Imox represents the collective consciousness, the great ocean. It is the moment before the “big bang”, when all that existed was the dream of the creator. It is important to remember your individuality.

The Number Eight

The number 8 is considered to be a number of wholeness. It can be seen as birth (1) and death (7) combined to represent the whole cycle of the soul. It can also be seen as the point where the four first men who raised the sky from the sea were joined by their wives and the world become whole. The eighth day of the trecena is the most common day for ceremonies to be made. It is still in the balanced range of numbers and is an even number, which is also considered fortunate. As this wholeness represents every aspect of the energy of the day with which it is coupled. It is the wholeness of the nawal that is addressed in ceremony.

New Video – The Trecena of Imox (5th – 17th December 2023)

The trecena of Imox is a time for a new dream. It is far from something which can be brought in to place right now, but it gives the opportunity to plant the seeds for the dreams you wish to bring to fruition over the next 260 days.

12 No’j / 2024 Calendar

My 2024 calendar is now available. The calendar shows the days of the Chol Q’ij, formatted onto the Gregorian calendar. This year it is available electronically as a pdf in both English and Spanish. Printed versions, in English, are available locally here in Guatemala, from Palo Santo and Lava Love Cacao in San Marcos. It is also available at the candle shop of Nana Maria Feliciana, opposite Banrural in San Juan la Laguna. See this link for details on how to get your pdf.

Konojel

When I mention programs within my videos, it is because I personally know the people involved and can vouch that your donations will actually go towards helping the people for which they are intended. During the video I mention the Konojel program and their work in San Marcos la Laguna. They have turned from a basic, “let’s make sure bellies are full” program to one of much more social development. You can check out their programs and make a donation here https://konojel.org/

Odim

Within the village of San Pablo la Laguna, there is an organisation doing great work. They are called ODIM and are specialising in medical and educational services. During the pandemic restrictions, they helped feed many people, but this is in addition to their regular, long term work there. You can find out more about them through this link http://www.odimguatemala.org/donate

Popol Jay

Popol Jay is an ancient name to define the House of the Council of Elders, among the Maya of Guatemala. These were places of wisdom where sacred knowledge about medicine, the calendars, music, spiritual practice and more was kept and passed to future generations. They were all burnt down during the Conquest and subsequent Colonization periods. Today, the Q’eqchi’ Maya Council of Elders Releb’aal Saq’e has joined forces with many supporters to rebuild the Popol Jay of the North, in the lowlands of the Petén region, heart of the Maya culture of the Classic Period. The Elders have worked hard to acquire land and co-design this Center of Knowledge to share ancient wisdom with the World. To donate to the Elders of Peten to fund the Popol Jay, please use this link https://tinyurl.com/8s7vkvr

Calendar Workshop

If you would like to dive deeper into the sacred calendar, I will be running a workshop via Zoom from 10am – 2pm (Central European Time, UTC +1) from 11th – 15th December 2023. There are currently some spaces available. For more information, please go to https://thefourpillars.net/?page_id=1120

1 Imox (5th December 2023)

1 ImoxThis is a day to begin a new dream. It brings new inspiration to develop over the coming 260 days. Today we begin a new a new trecena, and some would say a whole new cycle of the calendar.

For me, the day 1 Imox has the words “in the beginning” very firmly attached to it. The Popol Vuh tells how before the creation event “only the sea alone pooled under the sky; there is nothing whatever gathered together. It is at rest. Not a single thing stirs”. As Imox represents the great ocean, 1 Imox could very well be seen as this moment before creation.

Imox is pure potential, limitless and directionless. Likewise, the number 1 also represents potential. Today is a day to dream, and dream big. It may be confusing, the initial images might not make sense to begin with, as so often with dreams. Now might not be the best time to attempt to fit them together. Just allow the ideas to come and grasp their energy for use later on.

Today may be for delving deep into the collective consciousness, to see what dreams are possible. It is the seed hidden deep in the dark moistness, with the ability to become whatever you wish it to. It is yours to grow, yours to guide, but today a little encouragement from others, to start to grow this dream seed, may prove very helpful. They may also help you to pull yourself out of the depths and come up for air once in a while.

Nawal Imox

The Number One

The number 1 is representative of the seed, of unity. It represents birth and beginnings. It is a low and odd number, which usually represents something challenging. However, the seed can grow into a mighty tree, it is full of potential. It needs the correct nutrients and conditions to germinate and develop its potential. We also may need encouragement to develop our ideas.

7 Imox (15th November 2023)

7 ImoxWith Imox representing the dream world and the number 7 representing finality, this may be a day to bring your dream to a conclusion. Choices may need to be made regarding which dream to follow.

The combination of Imox with the number 7 may lead to the ability to see all the dreams at once. This may lead to indecision. When all possibilities are laid before you, will choosing one mean that you have to give up the others? This is where a problem arises. Life moves forwards when decisions are made and paths are followed. Indecision can lead to stagnation. Today may bring the need to make a choice on which creative potential to follow, what desire you wish to engage with.

The energy of the number seven also has the connection with death, endings and finality. This could represent bringing a particular dream to its conclusion, possibly even the end of the dream being its realisation. On the other hand it could represent an end to a particular connection to the collective which may have been unhealthy.

The energy of the day 7 Imox may lend itself to being able to balance both the dream and the reality. It is possible to tap into the creativity associated with the collective consciousness, while bringing that inspiration into the physical world. The challenge, however, may be knowing where to draw the line between the two. Being able to see all points of view within the collective may lead to confusion rather than clarity, remember to apply your powers of discernment.
This, being the midpoint of the Tz’ikin trecena, may be asking for us to use this vantage point to decide which dreams we wish to bring into our new vision, and how we might bring them to a conclusion.

Nawal Imox

Nawal Imox represents the collective consciousness, the great ocean. It is the moment before the “big bang”, when all that existed was the dream of the creator. It is everything and nothing in one place, the ovum from which reality was conceived. The Number Seven

If we imagine the numbers 1 through 13 as a pyramid, the number seven would be at the top. Seven is the number of balance, it gives the ability to weigh up situations and see all points of view. While this may be very noble, it may lead to indecision.

However, it is also known as a number of death and endings, which would seem strange as it is only half way through. It is another representation of the change of state of the soul, showing half of the journey (1-6) in the mortal world and half (8-13) in the otherworld. As such it can be a great number on which to finalise or end something.

Number Sequence.jpg

The sequence of numbers as they appear with each appearance of a nawal. Here we see that the sequence begins with 1 and ends with 7, giving 7 as a number of finality.

13 Imox (26th October 2023)

13 ImoxThe day 13 Imox is likely to be a very strong day. This combination leads to a closeness to the unseen world. As a day of divination, readings or dreams, it may be the most outstanding.

Whilst Imox can be rather a passive energy, one to be experienced rather than pushing the experience onto you, this can prove to be a very interesting day. I often think of the connection with Imox being rather like all the hairs on our bodies acting like little psychic antennae, picking up everything around us. Today this is connected not just with our world, but also the unseen. This can include our ancestors in the spirit world, and possibly other realms within nature, the devas. As a consequence, the information coming through may be rather overwhelming, it can be like everything is “turned up to 11.” When filtered and ordered, some truly remarkable information may come through, but if unfiltered it may be just an unintelligible mess, a jumbled dream. This is certainly a day to apply your discernment to whatever comes to you, you may find that exposure to the mass media is counterproductive, today would be a better day for a retreat.

It may be a day where individuality could be lost, where you find yourself sucked into the crowd that you might not normally associate with. It is a day to be aware of your psychic connection with the collective consciousness, and use it appropriately. It’s a great day to disconnect from the media, from social media and the influences of that collective, and perhaps instead connect with the collective of the ancestors, of spirit.

When faced with the entirety of creation, the line between sanity and madness may become blurred.

Imox is a day to celebrate the spirit of the times, to understand the collective mind, particularly of humanity. It is a day to dream your creations, your art, your music. It is a day when we may all feel connected, a day when the psychic field between us may be particularly strong. Discernment may be called for, to understand when to dissociate from the collective, to remember your individuality, and to pull yourself back out of the dream world.

The number 13 is the final number. It represents the spirit world. It is said that on Halloween, the veil between the worlds is the thinnest. However within the sacred calendar, this thinning happens every 13 days. This connection with the spirit world creates a powerful day, where both the positive and negative aspects of the nawal it is attached to come through strongly. It is a very good day for activities such as divination, however, ceremonies on 13 days are generally carried out only by the most experienced Aj Q’ij who understand how to work with that strength of energy.

6 Imox (6th October 2023)

6 ImoxWhile Imox may be considered one of the more tricky nawales to deal with, the number 6 may bring out the best of it’s attributes. It is a day to bring stability to your dreams.

Working with the energy of Imox can always requires a delicate balance. On the one hand is the realm of infinite potential and possibility, all creativity, the collective consciousness from which anything can emerge. On the other hand, the depth of the collective may become so enticing that that it is difficult to separate from the dream world.

However, today nawal Imox is empowered with the stability of the number 6, connecting the Heart of the Sky and the Heart of the Earth with the physical plane. It brings stability between the Earthly and the otherworldly, assisting the ability to manifest between them. It gives the ability to connect with the other world, while retaining control of the connection, and the ability to extract ones self when required.

This combination gives a great opportunity to bring your dreams into this world, with the power of Heaven and Earth behind them. It is a day to embrace the possibilities of your creativity and firmly ground them into your world.

With the number 6 also representing family, it is a day when you may find yourself especially joined with the consciousness of your family. It is a day when you may intuit another’s feelings, with the bonding existing between you. You may need to check what you are feeling is really coming from you rather than another. It may be a day where you need to stabilise your individuality within your family.

The number six is said to be the number of ultimate stability. It is the first of the three middle numbers of the cycle, the balance point neither too strong nor too weak. It is a day frequently used for ceremony thanks to it’s conducive energy. It represents the four directions with the Heart of the Sky and the Heart of the Earth. It also represents family, relating to the six qualities that nourish and hold families together – health, understanding, property, employment, friendship and actions.

12 Imox (16th September 2023)

12 ImoxThis high numbered Imox day may amplify both positive and negative aspects of the Imox energy. It is a day of gathering together the dreams, but whose dreams are they?

The energy of nawal Imox connects us with the dream world, that place of visions and creation where all things come from. It is the place that we all exist together, as do all polarities. Sometimes when we dream we receive inspiration, sometimes we might have a nightmare. When we go to sleep we don’t necessarily know to which aspect we will journey. This is one of the issues with the energy of Imox, the uncertainty of what we will encounter in the collective consciousness.

When we connect that with the powerful number 12, it can be seen as a day of powerful experiences when it comes to the group consciousness. The 12 can represent the gathering together of all of life’s experiences, and so here we could imagine that we are gathering the hopes and fears, the dreams and nightmares of an entire generation. This has the potential to be very light, but also very dark. It can be easier than ever to be caught into strong media images and dragged to the depths of despair, feeling everything from those around you. This would also be a day to avoid the use of any kind of visionary plant, the energy of the day is strong enough already.

One way to help navigate Imox days is to take some time alone. Get away from people, and especially the media. Imox teaches us how to embrace our individuality and escape from the herd. In its most positive aspect, the day 12 Imox can be seen as a day to gather together all the dreams that you have had throughout your life in one fertile and creative bundle. This bundle can then be used to nurture and inspire, yourself and others as you feed it back to the collective.

As the water lily, Imox is probably a representative of  Nymphaea ampla, the white water lily. It has been suggested that the white water lily was smoked by the ancient Maya in a similar way to the blue lotus was used by the Egyptians. It was a plant which allowed access to the otherworld, a plant from which visions came if used correctly.

The number 12 is the penultimate number. In some ways it can be seen as the last Earthly number, the number 13 representing the spirit world. We travelled through the mortal world with 1 through 6, then the other world with 7 through 12. In this way 12 can be seen as a point of bringing all of the experiences into one bundle for presentation to the spirit world as we step into 13. As such, the number 12 brings a wealth of experience into one place, it is rather like writing an autobiography. It is totality, all that is, brought together.
