Here are the days of the Chol Q’ij mapped onto the Gregorian month of January 2026.
This is a rather quiet month astronomically, visibly at least. We will begin with the Quantrids meteor shower on the 3rd/4th which will likely be washed out by the full moon. On the 6th, Venus will be at superior conjunction, directly behind the Sun, and on the 7th Venus and Mars will be conjunct in their positions “behind” the Sun. This is actually a true alignment, but from our position on Earth we will not be able to see it. On the 10th, Jupiter is at opposition, so this will mean a near alignment too, although all we will see is Jupiter directly overhead at midnight!

The Jun E’ Journey
