Here are the days of the Chol Q’ij mapped onto the Gregorian month of April 2026.
After the active time of March, April will be a relatively quiet time astronomically.
However, for those of you here in Guatemala at around 15 degrees north of the equator, the Solar Zenith transit will occur on 6 No’j (29th April 2026). It occurs twice per year, usually on or around 29th/30th April and 12th/13th August. This is the day when you will have no elongation of your shadow at midday. The sun will be directly overhead at solar noon and your shadow will just be a little puddle beneath you. This is an important day to make sure your corn is in the ground ready for the coming rains.
Calendar Workshop
If you would like to dive deeper into the sacred calendar, I will be running a workshop via Zoom from 11 am to 3 pm (Guatemala time, UTC -6) from 13th – 17th April 2026. There are currently 3 spaces available. For more information, please go to https://thefourpillars.net/maya-calendar-workshop/
The Jun E’ Journey
Are you feeling ready for a new adventure? Perhaps some time trekking intentionally in the jungle of northern Guatemala would satisfy your need for a disconnection from the modern world. The JunAjpu journey filled up and is now happening, but I was approached to see if it would be possible to make another journey in spring of 2026. I checked the calendar and found another auspicious trecena, the trecena of E’, would fall within the trekking period. The Jun E’ journey will take place between April 23rd and May 4th 2026, and there are two places still available. For more information, please visit https://thefourpillars.net/the-jun-e-journey/
Readings and Divinations
For many years I have made readings of people’s nawal to help them understand their lifepath, talents and challenges. I also make readings for partnerships and Tz’ite divinations on questions. If this is of interest to you, please click this link to book a reading or divination
1 Kej / 2026 Calendar
My 2026 calendar is now available. The calendar shows the days of the Chol Q’ij, formatted onto the Gregorian calendar. Currently it is available electronically as a PDF in both English and Spanish. See this link for details on how to get your pdf https://thefourpillars.net/2026-calendar/
Printed versions, in English, are nearly gone. The last ones available locally in Guatemala in San Juan la Laguna at the candle shop of Nana Maria Feliciana, opposite Banrural, across from the flete parking. I still have one or two here at my home too.
Google Calendar Plugin
For the more technically minded I have also created a plugin for Google Calendar. This enables you to track the days of the sacred calendar on your smartphone. In this way you can ensure that your activities are aligned to the most conducive energies! I have also added a description to every day, just click on the day name. It is available for purchase https://thefourpillars.net/google-calendar-plugin/
