New Video – The Trecena of Iq’ (9th – 21st February 2023)

The trecena of Iq’ is a time to breathe life into something new. It may be a time of turbulence as the old pattern or path makes way for the new arrival. Hold on to your hats, this could be a bit of a wild ride!

My 2023 calendar is now available. The calendar shows the days of the Chol Q’ij, formatted onto the Gregorian calendar. This year it is available electronically as a pdf in both English and Spanish. Printed versions, in English, are available locally here in Guatemala, from Nectar, Palo Santo and Lava Love Cacao in San Marcos. It is also available at the candle shop of Nana Maria Feliciana, opposite Banrural in San Juan la Laguna. See this link for details on how to get your pdf https://thefourpillars.net/?page_id=9580

Within the village of San Pablo la Laguna, there is an organisation doing great work. They are called ODIM and are specialising in medical and educational services. During the pandemic restrictions, they helped feed many people, but this is in addition to their regular, long term work there. You can find out more about them through this link https://tinyurl.com/yb4l3rux

Popol Jay is an ancient name to define the House of the Council of Elders, among the Maya of Guatemala. These were places of wisdom where sacred knowledge about medicine, the calendars, music, spiritual practice and more was kept and passed to future generations. All were burnt down during the Conquest and subsequent Colonization periods. Today, the Q’eqchi’ Maya Council of Elders Releb’aal Saq’e has joined forces with many supporters to rebuild the Popol Jay of the North, in the lowlands of the Petén region, heart of the Maya culture of the Classic Period. The Elders have worked hard to acquire land and co-design this Center of Knowledge to share ancient wisdom with the World. New Video – The Trecena of Aq’ab’al (1st -13th January 2023)

Somewhere in the darkness, light begins to make its presence known. This is the beginning of beginnings, it is the first spark of the fire. The first spark needs tending, gentle use of breath and material in order to grow it into the fire it will become. The spark may represent a new idea that you have, but this is the first thought of this idea. It is something that comes in the waking moment, fresh from the dream world. It has started to emerge into this world, but is still uncertain, hidden and yet to take much form. This is the moment where it needs support and tending, just as the spark, or the new born needs care and attention. This is where the input and encouragement of family, friends and community can help that spark to become the fire, or that new born to grow.

If you would like to dive deeper into the sacred calendar, I will be running a workshop via Zoom from 10 am – 2pm (Guatemala Time, UTC -6) from 2nd to 6th January 2023. For more information, please go to https://thefourpillars.net/?page_id=1120

Please watch our movie for a deeper understanding of the importance of preserving sacred medicinal plant and their inherent ancestral knowledge: https://m.youtube.com/watch?time_continue=1&v=qyWmxDRJYbA&feature=emb_logo.
The total cost of this project reaches close to 500,000 USD as you can see in the link, but we are asking for your help to begin the first section through your kind donations to reach a first sum of 50,000 CHF.
No matter the size of your donation, the Elders wish to give back a gift of wisdom never shared before. With your donation, you will receive a PDF copy of the unique book about Maya Medicine in Guatemala (see table of content http://cirma.org.gt/library/images/f/f9/51593.pdf ). Currently available only in Spanish, we are working hard to develop an English version.
Please help us recreate this special place of Wisdom for Earth, hoping one day you will stand next to us to make the dream of Green Health for All, entirely possible.

I am currently working on my 2023 calendar and it will be available in November. This time around it will be receiving an upgrade that I think you will all appreciate – more to come when I reveal it in November! As always, printed versions, in English, will be available locally in Guatemala, and pdf versions in both English and Spanish will be available for the rest of the world.

In the meantime, if you are the more technically minded I have created a plugin for Google calendar which will enable you to track the days of the sacred calendar on your smartphone. I am currently updating it so that it will also give a summary of the energy of the day. In this way you can ensure that your activities are aligned to the most conducive energies! It is available for purchase here.
