Here are the days of the Chol Q’ij mapped onto the Gregorian month of January 2023.
This is a rather quiet month astronomically, but we will begin with the Quantrids meteor shower on the 3rd/4th.
If you would like to dive deeper into the sacred calendar, I will be running a workshop via Zoom from 10 am – 2pm (Guatemala Time, UTC -6) from 2nd to 6th January 2023. For more information, please go to https://thefourpillars.net/?page_id=1120
I have now finished creating my 2023 wall calendar. This year I have decided to change the format a little. I have been trying to integrate the rhythm of the Maya calendars with the Gregorian calendar to help people to bridge between the two. There is an issue as the Maya Solar calendar celebrates its “new year” in February, but of course most people want their calendars in December ready for the new Gregorian year. In order to resolve this issue, my 2023 calendar has become a 14 month calendar that includes the months of January and February 2024 so that the whole of the year 11 E’ (and the whole of 2023) are covered. As usual, the shipping situation in Guatemala means that printed copies are only available locally, in Lava Love Cacao, Nectar and Palo Santo in San Marcos la Laguna and the candle store of Nana Maria Feliciana in San Juan la Laguna. However, you can purchase an electronic copy, in English or Spanish, as a pdf here.
If you are the more technically minded I have also created a plugin for Google calendar which will enable you to track the days of the sacred calendar on your smartphone. In this way you can ensure that your activities are aligned to the most conducive energies! It is available for purchase here.
Please click the calendar for a larger version to print out if you would like to. Below the calendar are clickable links to my interpretation of the energy of each of the days.
