As we go into the day 3 E’ we enter the final five days of the Mayan solar year, a period known as Wayeb. This is a period of introspection, of retreat, known for its unpredictable energies. Here I share some information about the Mayan solar year and the year bearers, as well as Wayeb.
This is a part of the “Living the Sacred Calendar” presentation I made on 13 Toj (12th February 2020) at Samsara’s Garden, San Marcos la Laguna.
The Trecena of Tz’i is a time of renewal of faith, a time to bring new justice to our world, a time to trust our guidance and more than anything, a time to embrace the unconditional love within each one of us. This time it is particularly interesting as we have the wayeb, and new solar year in the middle of this trecena.

The Trecena of K’at gives us the opportunity to reassess what we wish to keep, and what we wish to let go of, in order to grow. It contains one of the most important days of the calendar, Wajxakib (8) B’atz, the day of initiation, the first day of the ceremonial cycle.
The Trecena of B’atz is a great time to begin a new creative project. Whether you are launching your new artform, or beginning to weave something, this is the day to get started.
The trecena of Tijax presents an opportunity to release what is causing imbalance in life in order to promote healing, to cut through to our truth. It is a time of refinement as we polish our inner diamond.

The Trecena of Kan gives us new opportunities to learn, to discover new wisdom and to begin to empower ourselves and others.
The Trecena of Kej gives us the opportunity to reconnect to the energy of the natural world, strengthening the spiritual leader within each one of us.
I recorded my workshop yesterday to make a new video, but unfortunately, background noise has rendered it unusable. So, I will recycle this video from earlier in the year. The key points of the video are the same (so don’t be concerned that the dates on the video are January 2019), but it also gives us an opportunity to reflect on what happened to us the last time this trecena came around – where were we in the second two weeks of January, and what was going on in our lives?
The Trecena of Imox gives us the opportunity to enter a new phase of evolution, to bring a new dream into being, for ourselves and for the whole of humanity.
The Trecena of Q’anil (15th – 27th August 2019) – time to ripen in readiness for the next step on the evolutionary cycle!
The trecena of Ajmak brings an opportunity to forgive, to turn over a new leaf and embrace the sweetness of being human, leading to the ultimate reward of 13 Q’anil – maturity of spirit!
