4 Tz'ikinThe nawal of prosperity and vision combined with the number of stability should give some interesting properties to this day. This is the day to ground your vision, to bring your inspiration into prosperous physical reality.

It is possible that the prosperity of the nawal Tz’ikin comes from its foresight. Tz’ikin is an energy which connects the sky to the surface of the Earth, these being the domains of the bird. When flying high, the bird can see the way ahead, it is able to perceive this new path stretching out ahead of us. We are only on the fourth day of this trecena of E’, the new path that we are taking, and today gives us an opportunity to envision the path ahead. Four represents the cardinal points, the four colours of maize, the four carriers of the year, the two equinoxes and two solstices, as well as midnight, sunrise, midday and sunset. The number four is representative of the four first men, who raised the sky from the sea to create the world we live on. In Mayan myth it is four pillars that support the sky from the Earth. As you can imagine, four is a number which represents stability, a solar number. Even though it is still low, it is thought of as a beneficial number.

10 Tz'ikinToday we see the prosperous nawal Tz’ikin, paired with the cooperative and community minded energy of the number 10 giving rise to a day of sharing visions for prosperity within your community.

Communities prosper when each member of that community is strong and healthy. Should one member have a problem, a strong community will rally round and ensure that the individual is supported.  Each member of the community brings their own wisdom and energy and is valued for their input. The ability to freely give that support, and accept it when it is offered is what truly benefits the community and everyone in it.

Change is not always easy, and as we go further through this trecena of Kame, we may need some assistance to achieve our completed vision of transformation. Tz’ikin is the day of visions and these visions are known to bring prosperity, both to yourself and your community. This prosperity may be financial, but it may also be greater wisdom or understanding. Sometimes these visions may be grand and may require skills or knowledge that you don’t possess in order to achieve them. Today is a day when we can share our visions with our community, and when we can ask for a helping hand to manifest these visions into the physical world. As always, this energy works both ways. A member of your community may be looking for your advice to help them see what they are missing in their plan, or to help them see things from a different perspective. 3 Tz'ikinSometimes a day which carries a usually fortunate nawal can be modified by a number to create a less conducive energy. The usual clarity of vision of Tz’ikin may be clouded by external circumstances, today you may need to rely on your inner vision.

Tz’ikin days are usually enjoyable. They are social, visionary and prosperous, but today it is possible that all of those qualities are obstructed as the influence of the number 3 comes into play. The energy of the number may 3 bring doubts, instability and challenges. Whilst its combination with the highly positive energy of the nawal Tz’ikin may be cause its effect to be softened, it is possible that this Tz’ikin day may not be as beneficial as other Tz’ikin days. There are various myths about the creation which link with the number 3. One is that at the time of creation, three stone jumped out of the fireplace and formed the new world. These three stones are called the hearthstones, and are still seen in many Maya homes today, on the fire supporting the tortilla griddle. From an astronomical point of view, the stones are the stars Alnitak, Saiph and Rigel in the constellation we call Orion, and the Smoky Fireplace is the Great Orion Nebula (M42)

The number 3 is still in the low end of the range of numbers. It does not have much energy yet, and it is also an odd number. It can represent the home, relating to the three hearthstones laid by the creators, and this is probably a good focus for a 3 day. However, it is possibly the most troublesome of the numbers to deal with, it lacks stability and represents challenges and obstructions. The number three brings up internal/external dilemma. The lack of stability in the physical, external world that it brings suggests that the more appropriate action is to look to the internal world, both of the home and of yourself.

9 Tz'ikinThe day 9 Tz’ikin combines the fortunate and prosperous day of Tz’ikin with the number of life and the divine feminine. This gives the potential for a very beneficial day, especially with respect to prosperity.

As the bird soars high in the sky it is able to see the path ahead, giving an understanding of both possible future complications and the best route to take in order to avoid them. This is metaphorically part of the essence of the nawal Tz’ikin. It give us the ability to perceive the most prosperous direction in which to put our energy. This may be why of Tz’ikin days, and the people who carry this nawal, are naturally endowed with good fortune. They carry the foresight to make beneficial decisions.

Of course, an important point to note is that the prosperity mentioned here is not just a material thing. It is not about a big bank balance on a dying planet. 2 Tz'ikinThere are many ways that the day 2 Tz’ikin can be interpreted. Most are positive as both Tz’ikin the energy of 2 have beneficial properties. It is a day to see and resolve duality for the prosperity of all.

It is a day that brings focus to relationships, and particularly may help to see and understand elements of self sacrifice required within a relationship in order to bring prosperity. Tz’ikin has a rather light hearted and good nature, and gives the ability to see the bigger picture, it helps us to put our sacrifices into perspective and see the benefits they bring. In matters of business, a partnership formed today should be rather beneficial, co-operation bringing the vision into reality.

However, there are other much higher aspects associated with the nawal Tz’ikin. It is true that Tz’ikin days are used for prosperity, but really what do we mean by prosperity? Of course we could see the surface level of financial matters and Tz’ikin days are said to be good for business, but the prosperity that the nawal Tz’ikin guides us to is on a deeper level. It brings us the visions which help our environment, families and communities to thrive, which help them to truly prosper and multiply.

Here, the combination with the energy of the 2 perhaps helps us to see both sides of the story. Both the number 2 and the nawal Tz’ikin can act as mediators, occasionally sitting on the fence, but generally able to resolve situations. Today brings just such an energy. It is when we can see the issues through the eyes of others that we can understand their point of view and create harmony. 8 Tz'ikinWith the 8 representing wholeness and Tz’ikin representing the vision, this may be the day when the big picture is finally revealed to the world. It is the day when the new vision combines with the old to bring prosperity.

The energy of the days numbered 8 can be seen as an overlap, where the novelty of the energy of the number 1 combines with the energy of the ending of number 7. It is the seam between the new fabric and the old, that which joins the previous weaving to the current. As such it can be seen as a combination of energies, a re-imagining of an old principle or vision, again breathing new life into an existing idea. When combined with the energy of the nawal Tz’ikin this brings in the energy of prosperity. This is a day of bringing together existing ideas with new energy in order to sustain those around us.

If you have the vision for a new venture, particularly a new business venture, this is a great day to seek advice from those who have taken on similar tasks before. The combination of the old and new may bring great success.

As this wholeness represents every aspect of the energy of the day with which it is coupled, it is the wholeness of the nawal that is addressed in ceremony.

The trecena of Tz’ikin brings the opportunity to bring forward a new vision for ourselves, our family or our community. It brings a time of re-envisioning how we choose our world to be, how to create a new time of sustainable prosperity.

Within the village of San Pablo la Laguna, there is an organisation doing great work. They are called ODIM and are specialising in medical and educational services. During the pandemic restrictions, they helped feed many people, but this is in addition to their regular, long term work there. 1 Tz'ikinThe nawal of vision and prosperity combines with the number of novelty and birth to bring an auspicious day, and new trecena. This is a day of inspiration, a day to begin work on a new vision.

7 Tz'ikinThe day 7 Tz’ikin can encompass both focus and the ability to see the bigger picture. As the bird sitting atop the pyramid it has an enormous breadth of vision, which may lead to indecision or to prosperity if focused.

The nawal Tz’ikin has a naturally restless energy. It is a communicator, as the bird hops from one branch to another, gathering and exchanging information. It receives different points of view which can lead it to prosperity when correctly put together. However, sometimes it spends too much time observing and communicating to bring these things together.

If this can be controlled, then Tz’ikin may bring focus with 7 representing the goal, the final aim. It may then lead to the vision of how to finalise an idea. It has the ability to see how to thrive in all choices, and prosperity may come, as long as distractions can be avoided. The number seven is the mid-point of the range of numbers. It is known as a number of death and endings, which would seem strange as it is only half way through. It is another representation of the change of state of the soul, showing half of the journey (1-6) in the mortal world and half (8-13) in the otherworld.

If we imagine the numbers 1 through 13 as a pyramid, the number seven would be at the top. Seven is the number of balance, it gives the ability to weigh up situations and see all points of view. While this may be very noble, it may lead to indecision.

13 Tz'ikinToday brings an interesting energy where the nawal of vision and prosperity combines with the number representing the spirit world. Today is the day to ask for ancestral guidance towards prosperity.

This is not a day to necessarily expect abundance to just drop out of thin air in front of you, although the strength of this day does not rule that out either. This type of assistance may be a gift, but may also not lead to a long term solution. It is more a day to receive the vision of how to bring prosperity to you, your family and your community. Whilst it might be a better day than usual to buy a lottery ticket, a more sustainable plan may be to seek guidance regarding your future vision for prosperity. True prosperity is, of course, not only financial.

The energy of the number 13 represents the spirit world, including our deceased ancestors. On these days, it is easier to seek their counsel through some form of divination or mediumship. It may even be that the nawal Tz’ikin brings to you directly a vision of how to prosper, acting as the messenger between the unseen world and you. It is certainly a day to keep your eyes open, and be aware of visual pointers, signs and signals which mark your most fortunate direction. As the trecena of Aq’ab’al comes to an end, this is the day to ask for help, verbally, and particularly from your ancestors, and use your eyes to see what they show you with regards to how to develop your concepts into a vision. In the foliated cross representation of Aj, we saw the bird deity sitting atop the cross representing the Heart of the Sky. However within the sacred calendar, this thinning happens every 13 days. This connection with the spirit world creates a powerful day, where both the positive and negative aspects of the nawal it is attached to come through strongly. It is a very good day for activities such as divination, however, ceremonies on 13 days are generally carried out only by the most experienced Aj Q’ij who understand how to work with that strength of energy.
