Here are the days of the Chol Q’ij mapped on to the Gregorian month of January 2019.
If you would like a calendar for the whole of 2019, they are available for purchase here as physical copies within Guatemala or pdf electronic versions for the rest of the world.
This Gregorian month brings us a few interesting celestial events. Early in the month on the 3rd/4th we have the Quantrids meteor shower, shortly after followed by a partial solar eclipse on the 6th in eastern Asia and northeastern Russia. The solar eclipse is followed by a total lunar eclipse over north and south America.
Venus will also be an interesting subject. It reaches its greatest western elongation – its greatest altitude in the eastern pre-dawn sky – on 6th January, then will be conjunct with Jupiter on the morning of the 22nd.
